Founded by Borges de Freitas and Carlos Marques, Megacork S.A, did start to supply cork granules, serving the Industrial Cork needs of our customers around the World.
Production began in July of 1994.

Profiting the high experience level in Cork Industry of the founders, the Company was quickly orientated to the production of Agglomerated Cork Products.

Production did start in 1995 of Agglomerated Cork Blocks and Sheets mainly to serve the Automotive Industry, which became our most important production sector.
Pursuing the strategic line, in 1996 a Agglomerated Cork Rolls also started, serving as a complement to the traditional agglomerated products, and in simultaneous a line for insulation and visual board applications was developed.
